Penguins Reassign Emil Bemström To Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

Bemström has one assist in 14 games for Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Emil Bemström to their AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the club announced Saturday.

Bemström has recorded one assist while averaging 8:20 of ice time in 14 games this season in Pittsburgh.

Although struggling to get his footing with the Penguins, Bemström posted 21 goals and 25 assists for 46 points in 45 AHL games in the 2024-25 campaign. Including the preseason, the 25-year-old has been shuffled nine times between the NHL and AHL rosters this season.

Selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL entry draft by Columbus, Bemström tallied 75 points (34 goals and 41 assists) across 204 games for the Blue Jackets before being traded to the Penguins in February 2024. He recorded three goals and two assists in 24 games with Pittsburgh to finish the 2023-24 season with eight goals and eight assists in 56 total games.
