The Pittsburgh Penguins have seven games remaining in what can only be described as a disappointing season for the five-time Stanley Cup-winning franchise.
Like the team itself, goaltender Tristan Jarry has had a trying season with the Penguins. On Jan. 15, general manager Kyle Dubas placed the struggling netminder on waivers.
“I’ve never experienced that before,” Jarry said after the Penguins’ photo and practice session Monday, per TribLive’s Seth Rorabaugh. “It was something I had to learn from and kind of manage, I guess.”
Jarry stayed with the Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton Penguins until he was recalled by Pittsburgh on March 3. Since he’s returned, Jarry has posted a 5-3-1 record, a 2.95 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage and one shutout.
The 29-year-old veteran has three years remaining on the five-year contract he has with the Penguins . Jarry shared his desire to play his entire career for the franchise that selected him with the 44th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

“I obviously want to be here,” Jarry said, per Rorabaugh. “I’ve been here my whole career. That’s where I plan on finishing my career hopefully. That’s obviously something I want to do. I’ve loved every minute putting on a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey, and I hope I get to do it for a lot longer.”
Jarry has a 2.75 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage across 288 games with Pittsburgh with an overall record of 149-96-30. His 149 wins ranks him third in franchise history behind only Marc-Andre Fleury (375) and Tom Barrasso (226).
