NFL Rumors: ‘Safe Bet’ Steelers Sign This Free Agent To Fill Key Need

Aaron Rodgers appears destined for Pittsburgh

If you’re going to throw your money on anything, throw it on black … and yellow.

NBC Sports’ Mike Florio on Sunday quoted a source who said it’s a “safe bet” Aaron Rodgers will sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, though it’s unknown when exactly that will be.

Rodgers, who reportedly had a six-hour meeting with members of the Steelers organization, apparently is not in a rush to sign on the dotted line. His next landing spot, though, figures to be the Steel City.

That’s probably a good thing for those in Pittsburgh given the Steelers have put their eggs in Rodgers’ basket. Pittsburgh watched Justin Fields sign with the New York Jets in free agency all while Russell Wilson remains on the open market. Wilson, who like Rodgers also drew interest from the New York Giants, remains in a holding pattern.
