Aaron Rodgers reportedly has a preference for his next landing spot, and it’s not the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rodgers is “hoping to sign” with the Minnesota Vikings, according to a report by The Athletic’s Michael Silver, Dianna Russini and Alec Lewis.
The New York Giants and Steelers reportedly have standing offers out to Rodgers while the Vikings try to navigate their short- and long-term plan with 2024 first-rounder J.J. McCarthy coming off a season-ending knee injury.
“Rodgers has been targeted by the Steelers and Giants but has essentially put both teams on hold while he waits for clarity regarding the Vikings’ situation,” The Athletic wrote. “If Minnesota ceases to be an option, it’s also possible that Rodgers will turn down both the Steelers (a 2024 playoff team) and Giants and instead opt for retirement.”
If Rodgers does sign with the Vikings, that could put Pittsburgh in a bidding war for Russell Wilson. Wilson reportedly met with the Cleveland Browns and Giants last week.
