Steelers Make Intriguing Veteran Addition Before Free Agency

Donald Parham was signed on Friday

The Steelers made an intriguing addition on Friday.

Pittsburgh announced the signing of veteran tight end Donald Parham Jr. to a one-year contract, allowing the organization to add some depth to the position before free agency opens on March 10.

Parham, 27, is far from a world-beater at the position, but did post 67 receptions for 764 yards and 11 touchdowns across four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2020-2023. The Steelers will become his third organization in three years, signing the 6-foot-8, 237-pounder in hopes that he can provide some aid to the likes of Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington.

Parham’s football journey includes stops at Stetson University (2015-2018), the Washington Commanders (2019), Detroit Lions (2019), the XFL’s Arlington Renegades (2020) and the Denver Broncos (2024).

MyCole Pruitt is the only tight end headed toward free agency for Pittsburgh.
