The Pirates, Penguins and Steelers will soon be the focus of upgrades all around Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh’s Sports and Exhibition Authority board approved a renovation budget for the city’s three sports venues — Acrisure Stadium, PNC Park and PPG Paints Arena. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported last week that the venues are getting a total of more than $10 million in upgrades.
PNC Park reportedly will add new ADA-compliant seating, new benches in the bullpen, and upgrade aspects of the clubhouse and the sound system. Acrisure Stadium will receive upgrades to its Wi-Fi system and some security enhancements, which are expected to be completed before the upcoming season. PPG Paints Arena will also receive upgrades to its Wi-Fi.
Pittsburgh is smart to get ahead of the upgrades, as two major sporting events are coming to the city.
The U.S. Open returning to Oakmont Country Club in June, while the 2026 NFL Draft will come to the city, as well.
