The Pittsburgh Pirates have two quality starting pitchers and another young talent on the way later this season.
Jared Jones went 6-8 with a 4.14 ERA in 2024, which doesn’t impress on paper but Jones showed real stuff and struck out over a batter an inning. The hard-throwing right-hander generated quality swing-and-miss stuff on the mound for Pittsburgh. Alongside young ace Paul Skenes, Jones is primed for a better 2025 season.
Jones took the mound in Bradenton for his first bullpen of the spring ahead of an exciting year for the Pittsburgh pitching staff.

The Pirates’ first game of the spring in Grapefruit League play is against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, Feb. 22.
