The Pittsburgh Pirates have another talented arm set to join Paul Skenes and Jared Jones later in 2025.
Bubba Chandler showed promise across seven starts after his jump to Triple-A Indianapolis last season. The young right-hander has electric stuff and will turn several heads this spring in Bradenton, Fla. MLB Network contributor Lance Brozdowski certainly fell in love with Chandler’s fastball ahead of his potential rookie season for Pittsburgh.
“He pounds the zone,” Brozdowski shared on “MLB Tonight” on Thursday. “He gets a lot of strikes on the pitch. You think of Jared Jones, Spencer Strider. He’s in that ilk to me alongside those guys. The Pirates have been churning out arms. I think Bubba Chandler is gonna be a stud.”
Chandler enters the season as the No. 1 overall prospect in the Pirates farm system, per MLB Pipeline.
