The Pittsburgh Steelers apparently are pursuing every option when it comes to adding their next quarterback.
According to a report from Ryan Burr of the Big 10 Network, the Steelers called the Jacksonville Jaguars to ask about quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
“Steelers have made inquiries to the Jaguars about a trade for QB Trevor Lawrence,” Burr wrote Thursday morning on X. “This directly from the horse’s mouth in the Jags organization. WOW!”
Andrew Fillipponi, who works for 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, followed up and noted the Steelers would trade their 2025 and 2026 first-round picks for Lawrence.
Pittsburgh has been involved in quarterback speculation with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both set to hit free agency. Neither cemented themselves as the clear-cut future starter in Pittsburgh. However, other speculation includes trades for veterans like New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford.

A deal for the 25-year-old Lawrence, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, would serve as much more of a blockbuster. That’s also why it’s more far-fetched than the other options.
