How Oddsmakers View Steelers’ Chance Of Winning Super Bowl LX

The Steelers might want to just focus on getting a playoff win

It’s almost a given that next season Mike Tomlin will lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to a winning record.

But can they do more than just have a successful regular season?

The Steelers finished second in a tough AFC North with a 10-7 record this past season but fell flat in the playoffs and exited early with a wild-card round loss to the Baltimore Ravens. That’s become a theme for the franchise, which hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016.

Contending for a Super Bowl next season seems unlikely at the moment for Pittsburgh, too, according to oddsmakers. DraftKings Sportsbook had the Steelers tied for the 18th-longest odds to win Super Bowl LX at +6500. Seven AFC teams had better odds than the Steelers, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and Denver Broncos. The Philadelphia Eagles have the best odds to win the Super Bowl at +600.

That seems about right for the Steelers, who have a major question mark at the most important position on the field. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both free agents and even if Pittsburgh brings one of them back, it’s probably not enough for the Steelers to win a Super Bowl. Pittsburgh could possibly pursue Aaron Rodgers, but that idea already got big-time push back from Steelers safety DeShon Elliott.
