The dramatic fall from NFL superstardom continued recently for former Pittsburgh Steelers standout wide receiver Antonio Brown.
Brown got into a world of off-the-field issues after he left Pittsburgh following the 2018 season and financial problems followed, too. The Times-Union of Albany, N.Y., reported last May that Brown filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and owed nearly $3 million to at least eight creditors.
Brown went into even further detail about his eye-popping financial struggles when he recently appeared on the “One Night With Steiny” podcast.
“I think I made $100 million, if you count off the field and everything,” Brown said, as transcribed by Chris Ward of Steelers Now. “I just filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, you feel me? I spent all of it. I blew all my money. I blew everything.”
Brown faced multiple lawsuits in recent years, which contributed to his money going up in flames. Brown also said he was taken advantage of financially by family and friends.

“The people I had in my life, they just took the money that I made in the NFL, and they didn’t make the money mines no more,” Brown said. “You know what I’m saying. They put that away for my family, generations and trusts, and then threw it out there. So whatever I made in football, I just saved it for my family, generation, my kids.”
Brown made the Pro Bowl in seven of his nine seasons with the Steelers from 2010-18. He ranks second in franchise history in career receptions (837), receiving yards (11,207) and receiving touchdowns (74). He also played for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who Brown won a Super Bowl with during the 2020 season.
