Russell Wilson’s future in Pittsburgh is uncertain, but there might be a natural landing spot for the veteran quarterback if he leaves the Steelers over the offseason.
It could make sense for Wilson to reunite with Pete Carroll, the new head coach of the Raiders. Las Vegas should overhaul its signal-caller room this spring, and Carroll obviously is plenty familiar with Wilson. The two worked together for a decade in Seattle, where Wilson earned eight Pro Bowl selections under Carroll and the pair were central figures on the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII-winning team.
Wilson was asked at the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games in Orlando about the possibility of rejoining forces with Carroll, but since the former still is under contract in Pittsburgh, he stiff-armed the inquiry.
“Pete’s going to be a great coach, obviously,” Wilson told reporters, per AP. “He’s great at what he does. But I’m focused on the Steelers.”
Wilson probably wants to wait to see what will happen in Pittsburgh before he thinks about the possibility of relocating to Las Vegas. The Steelers are expected to retain one of their top two QBs from the 2024 season — Wilson or Justin Fields — and part ways with the other. Wilson did just lead Pittsburgh to a playoff berth, but it might be in the Steelers’ best interest to see what they can do with the 25-year-old Fields.

And if they do, Wilson probably should give Carroll a call.
