The Pittsburgh Steelers need to add some talent at wide receiver this offseason, but could they also let one go?
It’s going to be an interesting offseason that should feature plenty of changes. Pittsburgh needs to add some talent and the Steelers could have some subtractions on the way as well. When you end the way the Steelers did, anything realistically could be on the way. Pittsburgh lost four straight games to end the regular season and then was knocked out of the playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens.
What type of changes could be coming?
Yahoo Sports’ Andrew Vasquez made a list of five possible Steelers trade candidates and had receiver George Pickens on his list.
“George Pickens’ talent is undeniable; however, the drama that comes with him is less than ideal,” Vasquez said. “Many will agree that this story has previously played out in similar fashion with Antonio Brown, Diontae Johnson, and Chase Claypool. The Steelers would be wise to get as much draft capital as they can before Pickens continues to diminish his value with immature antics, heading into a contract year in 2025.”

Pickens has all of the talent in the world but there has been plenty of chatter about his future with the Steelers. It would make more sense to keep Pickens and add another star into the receiver room as well. Pickens plays with a lot of emotion and there clearly has been some outbursts with the team, but still it wouldn’t be the best move to trade him away when the team desperately needs receiver talent.
