It was hard to find much good news Thursday night after the Pittsburgh Penguins loss against the Anaheim Ducks.
The Penguins have been aiming to piece together their first back-to-back wins since Dec. 17 and 19 when they faced off with the Ducks but could not continue the momentum they earned in their win against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night. Pittsburgh dropped a 5-1 game to Anaheim as the Ducks started strong with a two-goal lead in the first period and were able to tack on three more in the third period.
Mason McTavish and Alex Killorn were the main problems for the Pens, as each forward totaled two goals apiece to help the Ducks get the win. For the Penguins, their lone goal came off the stick of Michael Bunting — who scored his 14th goal of the season on the power play.
The bad news for the Penguins was that Bryan Rust left the game with a lower-body injury. Rust ranks second on the Penguins with 19 goals and third with 38 points.
Pittsburgh will try to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Seattle Kraken.
