The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a problem at wide receiver and the 2025 NFL Draft could be the time they finally address the problem once and for all.
After spending most of the 2024 campaign trying to find a second option to pair alongside George Pickens, the Steelers were left without a solution with the acquisition of wide receiver Mike Williams not working out.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper believes that Pittsburgh will finally fix the issue in the upcoming NFL Draft, where the team is set to select with the 21st overall selection in the first round. Kiper projects that the Steelers will select Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, adding a real threat next to Pickens.
“The last time the Steelers took a receiver in Round 1 was 2006, when they drafted Santonio Holmes at No. 25,” Kiper wrote in his latest mock draft. “But unless things drastically change in free agency, Pittsburgh has to change that streak. There aren’t enough reliable pass catchers in this offense. The Steelers don’t have a surefire WR2 behind George Pickens, and the offense isn’t going to improve until they do something there, no matter the QB.”
Egbuka was a standout for the College Football National Champions. The wideout put together two 1,000-plus yards seasons including a senior season where he finished with 81 receptions, 1,011 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.

The Steelers have plenty of decisions to make this offseason, and Egbuka could be a welcomed one.
