The Pittsburgh Steeler’s quarterback room is completely up in the air for the 2025 season.
Pittsburgh did a good job upgrading it ahead of the 2024 campaign. The Steelers added Russell Wilson and Justin Fields before the season to replace Kenny Pickett. Fields started the first six games of the season and went 4-2. Wilson started the rest of the season and went 6-5 in the regular season and then was under center when the team got knocked out by the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
Neither Wilson nor Fields are under center for the 2025 season. Will either be back in 2025? The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac recently did a mailbag for Pittsburgh fans. One fan asked about Fields and Wilson and predicted that Fields will end up being re-signed.
“At this point, I believe Justin Fields will be re-signed,” Dulac said. “But I don’t think it will be anything crazy.”
Wilson is a much more decorated player, but he now is 36 years old. Fields is just 25 years old and easily could be a long-term option for the team after showing them something in 2024.

Anything could happen and there’s arguments that could be made both for Wilson and Fields. There was plenty of questions about the two early on in the season and it certainly seems like they are going to start picking up steam again. Keep an eye on these two.
