The Pittsburgh Steelers have a lot of questions to answer this offseason.
The biggest and most pressing is going to be who will be the team’s starting quarterback in 2025? Russell Wilson and Justin Field held the job at different points throughout the 2024 season. Pittsburgh struggled down the stretch and was knocked out of the playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens.
Now, the Steelers are staring at a long offseason with no answer in sight for the quarterback position. There have been rumors about both Wilson and Fields as potential options. Both will be free agents and there’s merits to either player as the team’s starting quarterback moving forward.
Another big-name player has had his name tossed around as a possible fit. New York Jets star Aaron Rodgers is under contract for the 2025 season, but he hasn’t decided if he is going to play yet. Also, there has been speculation asking if the Jets would want him back.
With his future up in the air, some have floated Pittsburgh as a potential fit for him. While this is the case, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac threw cold water on the idea on the “Rich Eisen Show” as transcribed by Penn Live’s Nick Farabaugh.

“I can tell you it will not be Aaron Rodgers,” Dulac said. “They have no interest in that.”
This should close the door to the speculation about Rodgers. He is a future Hall of Famer, but a move really doesn’t make sense for Pittsburgh. If it wants an aging star, they could just keep Wilson.
