Steelers Running Back Shares Frustration Following Playoff Loss

Patterson struggled with the Steelers this season

It’s safe to say no one was happy after the Pittsburgh Steelers loss on Saturday night, but one player was sharing his frustration on social media after not seeing the field.

Cordarrelle Patterson joined the Steelers in the offseason, signing a two-year deal to be a utility player for the offense. He followed Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Arthur Smith from the Atlanta Falcons but didn’t take to the roster like he likely hoped. So much so, the do-it-all running back didn’t even see the field in the 28-14 playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night.

As a result, Patterson had no problem sharing his frustrations on Instagram after only seeing work on kickoffs.

“Guess I’ll shovel snow since I can’t touch the field n s–t,” Patterson wrote.

A high-ankle sprain hurt a lot of Patterson’s season, resulting in a lack of explosiveness but he’s been past that for well over a month. The 33-year-old only had 32 rushes and 135 rushing yards over 13 games and averaged just 21.8 yards per return on kickoffs.

Despite his lack of success in the regular season, Pittsburgh had no answers on the ground with just 29 rushing yards compared to the Ravens’ 299 rushing yards. Perhaps, Patterson could have offered something different if he got a chance.
