The Pittsburgh Steelers have a clear area in their offense that they need to improve in this offseason.
The Steelers finished the regular season 10-7 for the second straight season after losing the last four weeks. Although Pittsburgh has had improved quarterback play this season with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, the offense has struggled since Week 14. The Steelers have not had much production from their receivers besides George Pickens.
One intriguing option that the Steelers were listed as a potential landing spot for is Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Tee Higgins, according to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox.
“However, it would be foolish to believe that the Steelers won’t try to make a run at Higgins if he’s available,” Knox said. “George Pickens is a borderline No. 1 target, but receiver depth was a significant issue for Pittsburgh in 2024, and the team didn’t hide from that fact. Higgins would be a terrific fit in Arthur Smith’s offense and a threatening target opposite Pickens. With $56.6 million in projected cap space, Pittsburgh should have Higgins near the top of its wish list.”
“While the Steelers do need to formulate a long-term quarterback plan, they have a strong roster, a well-run organization and a winning head coach in Mike Tomlin. Along with the right contract offer, that might be enough to convince Higgins to change his AFC North allegiance.”

Pickens had 900 receiving yards this season. After that, the closest wide receiver in yards was Calvin Austin, who had 548 yards. Higgins has had five or more touchdowns in every season of his career and has cleared 900 receiving yards in all but one season. Adding a receiver like Higgins would instantly make the Steelers a better team.
