Could there be any moves on the horizon for the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency?
Pittsburgh is a team with a lot of potential. The Steelers enter Week 18 with an impressive 10-6 record. Pittsburgh has surprised some people this year, but the team’s overall performance has been great. Now, the Steelers hit the field next week in the NFL Wild Card Round with their opponent not decided yet.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox made a list of the top remaining players in free agency and also suggested potential landing spots for each one. Knox suggested the Steelers as a fit for two-time Super Bowl champion offensive tackle Donovan Smith.
“The Steelers should also give Smith a look, given their issues along the offensive line,” Knox said. “Rookie first-round pick Troy Fautanu suffered a season-ending knee injury in September, and starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. has largely been unreliable. He’s been responsible for five penalties and 10 sacks allowed, according to Pro Football Focus. At worst, Smith could provide insurance for a Steelers team light on tackle depth.”
Smith is a nine-year National Football League veteran with plenty of experience under his belt. He’s a two-time champion who has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
