The Pittsburgh Steelers have shown recently that there are areas that they can improve.
Pittsburgh is on a three-game losing streak heading into the last week of the regular season, with an AFC North title still up for grabs with a Week 18 win against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens losing to the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers already clinched a playoff spot, and could land as the No. 3 seed, No. 5 seed, or No. 6 seed depending on how Week 18 goes.
While speaking on his Footbahlin podcast, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger outlined two areas the team needs to address in the offseason, including offensive skill positions and the secondary.
“You’ve got to go find more weapons on offense,” Roethlisberger said. “I think you feel comfortable on the line. You got to go find some playmakers.”
“You gotta go back in the draft and really try to focus on secondary. You like what (Joey Porter Jr.), you like Minkah (Fitzpatrick)….if you don’t have DBs on the outside, teams are gonna pick us apart. Patrick Mahomes threw for 320-something yards and three touchdowns, and there was no pressure on him. If we don’t get pressure, we can’t stop on the back end.”

Pickens leads the Steelers in receiving with 900 yards, over 300 more yards than the next player on the team, even with Pickens missing three games due to injury. The Steelers added Mike Williams at the trade deadline, but the offense has still struggled.
Defensively, the Steelers have allowed 272 passing yards a game across the last three games and eight passing touchdowns. The secondary has been dealing with injuries and allowing opposing teams to pick them apart. Making changes in these two areas should help the Steelers become even better next season.
