Steelers Can Spoil Division Rival’s Season Without Winning AFC North

Cincinnati needs a win to stay alive

The Pittsburgh Steelers can still clinch the AFC North for the first time since 2020 with a win and a loss from the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore squares off against the quarterback-depleted Cleveland Browns, so the odds of Pittsburgh regaining the crown are not favorable.

Still, the Steelers should be playing to win regardless Saturday night even when they’ll already know the result of Baltimore-Cleveland earlier in the day. In their own divisional matchup, the Steelers can take pride in ending the season of an AFC North rival.

The Cincinnati Bengals visit Pittsburgh fresh off a thrilling overtime win over the Denver Broncos in Week 17 to stay alive in the playoff race. They’ve struggled all season, but Joe Burrow and the talented Bengals offense refuse to go down without a fight. Cincinnati can still clinch a playoff berth with a win along with Week 18 losses from the Broncos and the Miami Dolphins.

The Steelers won a 44-38 shootout in Cincinnati to start December and enter this matchup with the chance to sweep the season series. Whether or not Pittsburgh takes the field with a chance to win the division, they can play spoiler to a rival before their own postseason journey begins.
