Steelers Playoff Picture: Latest Update With One Game To Go For Pittsburgh

Could the Steelers make a run?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs this season.

Pittsburgh has had a tough few weeks, but they still are in a good spot. The Steelers have lost three straight games and now are 10-6 on the season. With one week to go in the regular season, the Steelers’ playoff spot isn’t fully finalized yet. While this is the case, we are starting to get a clearer picture.

The Steelers currently are in second place in the AFC North and have the No. 5 seed in the AFC. The Ravens have the top spot in the division and have the No. 3 seed in the conference. A win in Week 18 and a Ravens loss will give the Steelers a chance at the top spot in the division based on tiebreakers.

If the season ended today, the Steelers would be the No. 5 seed and face off against the Houston Texans on the road. If the Steelers were to flip places with the Ravens, they would face the Los Angeles Chargers at home. Week 18 could change things, though. If the Steelers lose and the Chargers win, Pittsburgh could drop down to the No. 6 or No. 7 seed depending on how things shake out for the Chargers and Denver Broncos.

All in all, the Steelers’ position isn’t finalized yet. They could finish as high as No. 3 in the conference or as low as No. 7 based on Week 18’s performance and tiebreakers. Right now, they are the No. 5 seed with one game to go.
