The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the middle of a rough patch, but there’s still a lot to like about the 2024 campaign.
Pittsburgh, unfortunately, has lost three straight games, but still is 10-6 on the season. The Steelers are in second place in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens now. Pittsburgh currently has the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoff picture. A win in Week 18 and a Ravens loss could give the team a chance to win the division. Baltimore currently has the No. 3 seed in the AFC.
The Steelers have been one of the best teams in the AFC this season, and one of the reasons for this fact has been the play of star quarterback Russell Wilson. He has 15 touchdown passes to just five interceptions and has tallied 233.4 passing yards per game in 10 games.
He isn’t under contract beyond this season, though. It would be nice for the Steelers to bring him back. But what could a deal possibly look like? Spotrac currently is projecting his market value at two years and just over $80.5 million.
This seems to be a pretty fair number. In comparison, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott landed a four-year, $240 million deal. Wilson has kept the Steelers in playoff contention all season in one of the toughest divisions in football. If the Steelers want to keep Wilson, this is what it would likely cost. Should the Steelers bring him back?
