Steelers QB Justin Fields Projected To Land One-Year, $8 Million Deal

What's next for Pittsburgh?

Where will Justin Fields call home in 2025?

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a great move by bringing Fields into the fold ahead of the 2024 season. Fields is just 25 years old and started the first six games of the season for Pittsburgh. He was 4-2 as the team’s starter before being replaced in the starting lineup by Russell Wilson.

Neither Fields nor Wilson are under contract beyond this season. It seems like Wilson is the more likely option to return. If that ends up being the case, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Fields land a starting job elsewhere. But what could a deal possibly look like? Spotrac currently is projecting his market value to be just over $8.8 million across one year.

That would be an absolute steal for a team looking for a starter. A team like the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans, or New York Giants could be on the lookout for a new quarterback, depending on how the National Football League Draft goes. If a team could land Fields as a starter for that price point, it would be a great move.

Quarterback contracts typically are huge. There recently have been deals clearing $40 million, $50 million, and $60 million annually for quarterbacks. If a team could land a capable starter like Fields at such a low cost, that would be game-changing. Keep an eye on him as free agency opens up this upcoming offseason.
