Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers?
It’s such an insane idea it might just work, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
“When we try to come up with the list of teams that we know will be looking for quarterbacks in the offseason, it’s a short list, but I think we’ve gotta start moving the Steelers into that category as a strong possibility,” Florio said, per NBC Sports. “The thought that I had the other day, I’m gonna say it. We’ve seen them make googly eyes at each other during games before, and he’s been playing well the last couple of weeks.
“Aaron Rodgers, Mike Tomlin, one last ride together.”
The Steelers looked like they might be willing to ride things out with Russell Wilson beyond 2024, but a recent three-game losing skid and dip in his play places the franchise right back in contention to be on the hunt again in 2025. Rodgers, of course, would be the most high-profile choice for the club, if it intends on moving in that direction.

Rodgers has thrown for 3,511 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season, though his numbers haven’t done much to help the New York Jets — who are 4-11 entering Week 17. It’s also safe to say he’s been aided by having All-Pro talent at the skill positions like Davante Adams, Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall.
Pittsburgh is run much better than New York, but the chances of a union between Rodgers and the Black and Gold coming to fruition are pretty slim.
