One former member of the Pittsburgh Steelers will be available for teams to land in the very near future.
The Baltimore Ravens made what seemed like a very good move ahead of the 2024 National Football League trade deadline. Baltimore wanted to add some talent to the wide receiver room and went out and acquired former Steelers Pro Bowler Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers.
Johnson was off to a great start with Carolina. He had 30 receptions, 357 receiving yards, and three touchdowns in seven games with the Panthers before getting moved. When the Ravens acquired him, it seemed like he could be somewhat of a final piece for their offense with Super Bowl hopes.
Unfortunately for him, he will not be with the team as they attempt to make a run. Johnson was waived by the Ravens on Friday, according to the team.
“We have waived WR Diontae Johnson,” the team announced. “We have activated (defensive back) Desmond King and WR Anthony Miller from the Practice Squad for tomorrow’s game.”

Johnson had a shockingly short stint with the Ravens and it was weird from the jump. In four games, he had just one reception for six yards and there was a lot of drama.
Now teams will have a chance to place a claim on him on waivers. If he were to go unclaimed, he could be signed in free agency. Should Pittsburgh look to bring him back after spending the first five years of his career in town?
