The Pittsburgh Steelers have one of their toughest tests ahead of them on Sunday afternoon.
Pittsburgh is hitting the road to take on the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia currently is sporting an 11-2 record while the Steelers aren’t far behind at 10-3. The Steelers have a chance to make some noise in the road contest, and this will be one of their best ways to prove that they are true contenders.
Here are two things to watch for in Week 15’s Steelers-Eagles showdown:
How will Russell Wilson respond?
The Steelers will be without the services of star receiver George Pickens for the second straight game. Pittsburgh had an easier contest last week against the Cleveland Browns and came out on top 27-14. Wilson didn’t need to cook but had just 158 passing yards in the game on 26 attempts. The Steelers are going to need more from him against the Eagles and seeing how he can bounce back against a tough defense without Pickens will be interesting to watch for.
Playoff ramifications
Pittsburgh currently has the No. 3 seed in the AFC Playoff Picture. The Buffalo Bills have the No. 2 seed but are facing the Detroit Lions so there is a real chance they lose. If the Steelers win and the Bills lose, Pittsburgh would have the No. 2 seed with an 11-3 record while Buffalo would drop to 10-4. If the Steelers lose, they will be 10-4 and still have the No. 3 seed in the AFC but next week’s clash with the Baltimore Ravens would become even more important for the division.
