Three-Time Pro Bowler Suggested As Possible Fit For Steelers

Will Pittsburgh make a move?

Will the Pittsburgh Steelers add another pass-catcher to the mix?

Pittsburgh hasn’t been shy about its pursuit of playmakers this season. Before the 2024 season even kicked off the Steelers were trying to land superstar talent. The Steelers tried to get Brandon Aiyuk but things didn’t work out. The Steelers also were linked to Davante Adams before he was traded to the New York Jets.

The Steelers eventually were able to acquire Mike Williams in a trade with the Jets. There still has been chatter that the Steelers could use another weapon. Plus, with George Pickens dealing with an injury, the time may be now to add.

One player who was floated as a fit is three-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

“With the playoffs looming, a veteran receiver is suddenly available,” Florio said. “So what happens next for Odell Beckham, Jr.? He’ll pass through waivers. Anyone who claims him will be picking up the remainder of his $3 million base salary. It works out to $500,000.

“If he clears waivers, he becomes a free agent. It’s unclear whether he’d command anything more than the prorated veteran minimum of $1.21 million. Playoff teams that could use help at the position include the Steelers and (Kansas City Chiefs). Without George Pickens, who has a hamstring injury, Beckham arguably brings more to the table than all of the other receivers on the roster, except Mike Williams.”

Beckham hasn’t done anything yet this season but this still could make sense for the Steelers.
