The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled for one of the biggest games of the season this weekend and could be without their top offensive option for the game.
Pittsburgh will head to Philadelphia to face off with the Eagles in the game of the week. Unfortunately for the Steelers, they may not be back to full power as wide receiver George Pickens continues to deal with a hamstring injury.
ESPN’s Brooke Pryor reports that Pickens is dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, which leads to some doubt from Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
“We’re just in the mindset now of just getting him healthy as quickly as we possibly can,” Tomlin said, as transcribed by Pryor. “There’s a potential for this week, but it’s an outside chance. If you press me, I’d probably say he’s out or could be characterized as doubtful as we sit here, but again, like we always do, we’ll go through the normal procedure, we’ll let participation be our guide in terms of availability and then obviously the quality of that participation.”
Pickens was unexpectedly inactive this past Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, but it seems it wasn’t too much of a shock with how the injury continues to be treated. With Tomlin saying he’s doubtful as of right now, the offense will have to once again look elsewhere for answers.
