Steelers Get Redemption Win Vs. Browns, Hold Two-Game Lead

Pittsburgh continues to roll

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to showcase why they’re among the best teams in the National Football League.

After suffering a tough loss to the Cleveland Browns on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 12, the Steelers had an opportunity for redemption in Week 14 — and took care of business. While Alex Highsmith would return to the field to aid Pittsburgh’s defense, the offense was surprisingly without No. 1 wide receiver George Pickens, who was inactive due to a hamstring injury — despite being expected to play.

Without Pickens, both the offense and defense stepped up. Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson didn’t have over-the-top numbers, going 15-of-26 for 158 yards and two touchdowns. He found Pat Freiermuth and Van Jefferson for the scores, while Najee Harris continued to rumble on the ground for Pittsburgh with 53 yards and a touchdown. Chris Boswell added two field goals to help give the Steelers a 27-14 victory.

On the defensive side of the field, Pittsburgh made things difficult for Jameis Winston and company. James Pierre and Keeanu Benton each picked off Winston. The Steelers also nabbed three sacks, as the returning Highsmith had one while Cameron Heyward added two of his own.

Pittsburgh is headed for one of the biggest games of the season next Sunday as they’ll collide with the Philadelphia Eagles. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday.
