The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season.
Pittsburgh lost against the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago and faced a tough matchup last weekend against the rival Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers responded in the perfect way. Pittsburgh took down one of its bitter rivals, 44-38. The Steelers got a vintage performance from Russell Wilson who logged 414 passing yards to go along with three touchdowns. Pittsburgh’s defense also stepped up when it needed to most and helped earn the win.
The Steelers now are 9-3 on the season and still are in the top spot in the AFC North. This past weekend was almost a double-win for the Steelers. Pittsburgh came away on top and the second-place Baltimore Ravens lost and now is 8-5.
If the season were to end today, the Steelers would be the No. 3 seed in the AFC just behind the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. The NFL Playoff picture currently lists the Steelers with a 99 percent chance of making the playoffs. With a win against the Browns on Sunday, their chance of making the playoffs would be even higher. A loss would loss the Steelers’ chances to 96 percent.
Pittsburgh is the No. 3 seed currently in the conference but things always could change. The Bills are just in front of Pittsburgh at 10-2. Kansas City is 11-1 on the season so it would be tough to catch it. The No. 2 seed is realistic, though, especially with the Bills facing off against the Detroit Lions next week.
