The Pittsburgh Steelers have been a model of success for years and they now have a record to show it.
Following a tough loss in Week 12, the Steelers needed a redemption win and that’s exactly what they earned themselves on Sunday. Pittsburgh traveled to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals with the hope that their offense would find their game. The offense exploded for 44 points, led by Russell Wilson’s 414 passing yards and three touchdowns.
The Bengals didn’t make it easy on the Steelers, as they managed to put up 38 points in the game — but it was Pittsburgh’s offense that ultimately outlasted Cincinnati to get the win.
Pittsburgh’s victory moved them to 9-3 on the season, a win that tied an NFL record for the most non-losing seasons in a row with 21. The Steelers are now tied with the Dallas Cowboys, who accomplished the same feat from 1965 to 1985.
The most impressive part about the record is that 18 of those non-losing seasons have come under Mike Tomlin, who has coached Pittsburgh to the top of the AFC North — which they now hold a two-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens.
