Steelers Offense Shines, Outlast Bengals In High-Scoring Shootout

Pittsburgh's offense had their best game of the season

After a week of doubts, the Pittsburgh Steelers watched their offense explode to get back into the win column.

Pittsburgh’s offense has struggled over the last two games, scoring under 20 points in back-to-back contests. After a tough loss to the Cleveland Browns on “Thursday Night Football,” their contest against the Cincinnati Bengals was an important one to turn things around—which is exactly what they did.

The Steelers’ offense erupted for 44 points on Sunday afternoon as Russell Wilson threw for 414 passing yards on 29-of-38 passing. Those yards went for three touchdowns — one to George Pickens, one to Calvin Austin III, and the final score to Pat Freiermuth. Najee Harris also performed on the ground and through the air, rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown while adding six receptions for 54 yards.

On the defensive side of the football, T.J. Watt led the way with two sacks — including a strip sack on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Nick Herbig and Cameron Heyward added a sack as well while Donte Jackson got himself an interception.

The 44-38 victory marked another season for head coach Mike Tomlin without a losing record — making it 18 in a row.
