Steelers Standout Linebacker ‘Doubtful’ For Showdown Vs. Bengals

Pittsburgh has a big matchup ahead of it

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in an important AFC North matchup and likely won’t be at full strength.

Injuries have been no stranger to the Steelers this season. Pittsburgh began the season without starting quarterback Russell Wilson and there have been plenty of other injuries over the course of the campaign. The Steelers still have found ways to win games despite a plethora of injuries and currently are 8-3 heading into the clash.

Pittsburgh has been undermanned all season due to injuries and it seems like that will be the case once again on Sunday. Standout linebacker Alex Highsmith has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury and was listed as “doubtful” for the clash against the Bengals.

Highsmith has appeared in six games for the Steelers this season and has been great when he’s been on the field. He has three sacks, 19 tackles, and 10 quarterback hits on the season so far. He last appeared in a game for Pittsburgh on Nov. 10 against the Washington Commanders.

The 27-year-old saw some time on the practice this week, but it may not be enough to get back into game action for Sunday’s tilt. He hasn’t been fully ruled out at this point, but is doubtful. Hopefully, he continues to make progress and is ready to return by the time the Steelers face off against the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 8.
