The Pittsburgh Steelers secured a victory in their first divisional matchup of the season, beating the Baltimore Ravens 18-16.
The Steelers sit atop the AFC North at 8-2 after extending their winning streak to five games in their Week 11 win against the Ravens. Pittsburgh’s defense managed to deter a Ravens offense that leads the league in yards per game and is second in points scored per game. Although the offense also played well, the Steelers most valuable player was kicker Chris Boswell, who scored all 18 points with six field goals.
After his heroic efforts in the Steelers win against the Ravens, kicker Chris Boswell was named the Week 11 Special Teams Player of the Week, according to Steelers.com’s Teresa Varley.
“Chris Boswell keeps racking up the honors, winning the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 11,” Varley said. “Boswell accounted for all the scoring in the Steelers 18-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens, hitting on six field goals, including three from 50 plus yards.”
“This was the second time this season Boswell kicked six field goals, as well as three from 50 plus yards, previously doing so in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons, when he also earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Boswell has connected on 29 of 30 fields goals this season, with a long of 57 yards hit twice, and hit all 20 extra points. Since joining the Steelers in 2015, Boswell is 260-295 on field goal attempts (88.1%).”

The Steelers offense has taken a step forward with Russell Wilson under center, but having a great kicker like Boswell gives the team the ability to score most times they make it to the opponents side of the field. Boswell also won AFC Special Teams Player of the Month in September 2024 and October 2024.
