The Steelers could soon add a pair of names to their long list of inductees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Hines Ward and James Harrison were both named Modern-Era Semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
Ward played for the Steelers from 1998 to 2011 and was named MVP of Super Bowl XL. Pittsburgh inducted him into their “Hall of Honor” as a member of the Class of 2019, honoring his career that included 1,000 receptions, 12,083 receiving yards and 85 touchdowns. Harrison also won a pair of Super Bowls with the Steelers, while earning a pair of All-Pro selections and the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year award.
The NFL’s selection committee reduced an initial group of 167 nominees announced in September. Ward and Harrison’s next steps toward induction will have to include being among the 15 finalists that will be named late this year.
Will this be the year?
