Steelers Quarterback Russell Wilson Addresses Future With Team

Wilson is focusing on the present in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers remain atop the AFC North after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.

The Steelers are on a five game winning streak after beating the Ravens. Pittsburgh began the season 4-2 with quarterback Justin Fields starting while Russell Wilson was sidelined with an injury. The Steelers are undefeated with Wilson under center since he returned from injury in Week 7 and the offense has looked great with him starting.

When asked about his future with the Steelers in an interview with ESPN’s Hannah Storm, Wilson responded with how he is focused on the present.

“I’ve never really thought past the years most of the time when I’m playing,” Wilson said. “I’m so, anybody knows me, I’m so engulfed in the moment, you know? I think it’s so critical to be that way because it’s too hard to think about what’s ahead or what’s behind. It’s just being right here. You get the hardest position in the world every day. You know, you gotta be in the moment right now.”

Wilson focusing on the present seems to be working for the Steelers. He’s thrown for 942 yards and six touchdowns, while also adding another touchdown on the ground in four games.

With this being the only year on his contract, it’s unclear whether Wilson will remain in Pittsburgh after this season. He is playing some of the best football in his career and has the chance to lead the Steelers to a deep playoff run this season.
