Tristan Jarry was back between the pipes for the Pittsburgh Penguins, but the team’s struggles continued Friday night.
The Penguins faced the Columbus Blue Jackets to end their losing streak at two games. Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, Columbus dominated in puck control and shots — totaling 16 more shots on net than the Pens. Columbus managed to win 6-2, as they beat Jarry five different times, including twice in the first 10 minutes of the game.
Jarry spoke about his first start in the NHL since Oct. 16, keeping it all about him and his team.
“Obviously, their game plan was to get a lot of pucks to the net, get a lot of bodies to the net, and just battle,” Jarry said as transcribed by Penguins team reporter Michelle Crechiolo. “I think they got to a lot of pucks before we did, and it was tough to recover. I think they kept the pressure on throughout most of the game. We got some momentum back in the second, but they just kept pressing, and it was hard for us to defend.”
The 29-year-old made 33 saves in his return and will look to find his game in his next start.
