New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson made a spectacular, one-handed grab that probably will go down as the catch of the year in the NFL this season.
But Wilson’s sensational play only further upset Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens.
Pickens in Monday’s win over the New York Giants had two touchdowns overturned, including one where he got the same foot down twice before being pushed out of bounds. Pickens was perplexed why Wilson’s touchdown catch stood when he only got one foot and a shin down in bounds. Per NFL rules, a shin counts as two feet.
But Pickens had a theory beyond the NFL rulebook as to why his touchdown was disallowed and Wilson’s was upheld.
“But that’s a catch. Lmfaooo NFL be having vendettas toward certain players,” Pickens posted in a now-deleted Instagram story, per Sports Illustrated’s Noah Stackbein.

It’s not the best look for Pickens to complain about what happened since both plays were called correctly according to the rulebook. But Pickens certainly used the moment to cast some doubt in the minds of NFL fans that some players benefit from calls more than others.
Pickens will have extra time to fume over the call, though, with the Steelers on a bye in Week 9.
