Steelers Tackle Giants, Win Third-Straight Heading Into Bye Week

Pittsburgh isn't slowing down

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not slowing down as they head into their bye week.

Pittsburgh had to wait until “Monday Night Football” for their Week 8 game against the New York Giants, but it turned out to be worth the wait as they captured another strong victory with both sides of the football showing up.

Russell Wilson had another great performance at the helm for the Steelers, completing 20 out of 28 passes for 278 passing yards and a touchdown. Despite a 26-point showing for Pittsburgh, the lack of touchdowns came down to different situations including a George Pickens score that was called back. Najee Harris continued to rumble for yards, taking the ball 19 times for 114 on the ground.

Defensively, the Steelers were led by the pass-rushing duo of T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. Both players recorded two sacks, including Watt’s game-winning strip sack on Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Undrafted rookie Beanie Bishop Jr. earned himself another interception as well, coming off his two-pick performance a week ago against the New York Jets.

The victory brings the Steelers to a 6-2 record heading into their bye week. Pittsburgh is now in first place in the AFC North following the Baltimore Ravens’ loss to the Cleveland Browns.
