Sidney Crosby Excited To Team With Connor McDavid For Canada

Crosby and McDavid will team for the first time

Sidney Crosby will play for Team Canada in the 4 Nations Face-Off and is set to team with a certain superstar for the first time.

The 4 Nations Face-Off will take over for the NHL All-Star Game this year, pitting the best NHL players from Canada, the United States, Finland, and Sweden will go head-to-head for their country in a newly established tournament.

NHL players haven’t been able to take part in the Olympics since 2014, so this is a special opportunity for them to represent their countries for the first time in a long time on a major stage.

Six players have already been announced for each team, with Team Canada being led by the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby, Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid, Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand, Tampa Bay Lightning’s Brayden Point, and the Colorado Avalanche duo of Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon. This means that it will be the first time Crosby teams up with McDavid, and it’s clear that the former is excited to play with the Oilers’ superstar.

In a postgame interview, reporters asked McDavid who should captain Team Canada, in which he quickly answered with Crosby. As a result, Crosby responded to the major respect of McDavid signaling his excitement to team with him.

“Yeah, I’m really excited,” Crosby said, talking to Sports on Prime Canada. “Obviously for him not being able to play for Canada for a long time and coming so close and it just not happening, I think he’s got to be really excited. Obviously, I’m really excited. Playing against him all these years. It’ll be much better playing with him.”

4 Nations Face-Off kicks off Feb. 12 and will roll through Feb. 20 next year.
