Potential Steelers WR Target Seemingly Pulled Off Trade Market

Pittsburgh has to continue their search for a wideout

With the National Football League’s trade deadline right around the corner, the Pittsburgh Steelers are running out of time and options to add for their second wide receiver.

Pittsburgh has been searching for a No. 2 wideout to pair alongside George Pickens since the preseason, but they’ve yet to acquire such a name. First, it was Brandon Aiyuk, and then it was Davante Adams. The latest name the Steelers have reportedly been interested in is Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who returned to action in the team’s “Thursday Night Football” win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Well the return performance for Kupp aided the much-needed win for the Rams and as a result, seemingly has taken the 2021 AP Offensive Player of the Year off the market. At least that’s what Los Angeles’ head coach Sean McVay seemed to hint at following their win.

“I’m really glad to have Cooper Kupp back with us,” McVay said in his postgame press conference. “And that’s what I expect to stay that way.”

All of this came after McVay acknowledged the trade rumors regarding Kupp and that teams reached out. Los Angeles has won two straight games, bringing them to a 3-4 record and comfortably in the race for the NFC West. That’s a big reason that the 31-year-old is likely to stay put.
