Steelers Miss Out On Another Potential Wide Receiver Target

The Steelers are back to looking somewhere else

It’s another day in the National Football League, and this time, there’s another wide receiver trade that does not involve the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The hunt for a number two wide receiver option alongside George Pickens has been on the mind of the Steelers since the offseason, but no move has been officially made. After looking to acquire Brandon Aiyuk in the preseason and showing serious consideration for Davante Adams before he was dealt to the New York Jets, the potential answers are shrinking. The list of possibilities got shorter on Wednesday when an AFC rival made a move for another possible option.

The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs made a splash Wednesday morning, acquiring three-time All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans for a 2025 fifth-round pick.

Through six games this season, Hopkins has only recorded 15 receptions, 173 receiving yards, and one touchdown as a member of the struggling Titans offense, but now he’ll have the chance to be paired up with Patrick Mahomes and company.

With Hopkins now off the market, the Steelers will have to continue looking elsewhere if they want offensive help for their now Russell Wilson-led offense.
