Will the Pittsburgh Steelers find a way to bring in another wide receiver?
They certainly have tried, although things haven’t worked out to this point.
Pittsburgh keeps trying to bring in new receivers through possible trades but hasn’t been able to get a deal done yet. The Steelers tried to get Brandon Aiyuk from the San Francisco 49ers and then tried to get Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams did end up getting moved but to the New York Jets.
Now, the Steelers will face off against the Jets on Sunday, with Adams expected to be in the lineup. Pittsburgh still could look to make a move and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggested that the team could target Jets receiver Mike Williams who now seems to be available.
“The Williams trade buzz is noteworthy, as you said, (Dan Graziano), because while the Jets appear comfortable moving on, I’m hearing he is open to a trade and the team knows that,” Fowler said. “I’m not expecting a deal this week, but stay tuned. Pittsburgh appears to be the next team up.

“It has been scouring the earth for receiver help, making strong pushes for Brandon Aiyuk and Adams in the past. Williams could make some sense as a deep-threat option, though the Jets and Steelers play this week, which complicates matters. Either way, Pittsburgh will be looking.”
Williams could be a great fit for the Steelers. He may not have as big of a name as Adams, but he does have two 1,000 seasons under his belt and at least would give the Steelers another threat on the outside. Pittsburgh has the means to get a deal done and the Jets seem to want to deal Williams.
It’s odd timing for a deal, but maybe after this week, a deal could happen.
