The Pittsburgh Steelers will finally get a boost to their offense this week as they take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
Pittsburgh has lost two games straight to the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys. Their offense was stagnant in their most recent loss, with the offense only combining for 226 yards of total offense. Quarterback Justin Fields threw for two touchdowns, but that wasn’t enough to win against Dallas. Aside from George Pickens, who has been inconsistent, the Steelers offense lacks playmakers.
Third-round pick rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson will debut against the Raiders after a preseason ankle injury that has held him out all season according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“Steelers rookie wideout Roman Wilson is expected to be active Sunday, per sources, marking his NFL debut vs. Raiders,” Fowler reported. “After an ankle injury slowed his start to the year, Wilson gives the Steelers passing game another option.”
Wilson played at the University of Michigan, and in his senior season, he hauled in 48 receptions for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns for the National Champions. Wilson gives the Steelers more playmaking options in the offense. Pittsburgh’s offense stalled for most of last week, so adding the rookie wideout could give the team more offensive options.

It’s unclear what role Wilson will serve in his debut with the Steelers. It’s unclear if he will have any restrictions or be on a snap count as he returns from a preseason ankle injury, but Pittsburgh will be happy to have their third-round pick take the field.
