Steelers Playmaker Given Heavy Fine After Hit Last Week Vs. Cowboys

The Steelers receiver got bad news

The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to get back on track in Week 6 action against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Pittsburgh entered the weekend with a 3-2 record after losing two straight games. The Steelers lost in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, but that isn’t the only thing the team lost. Star receiver George Pickens certainly lost some cash thanks in large part to the contest.

Pickens was it with a $10,230 fine from the National Football League for a facemask penalty against Dallas, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.

“The NFL fined Steelers (wide receiver) George Pickens $10,230 for this move at the end of last week’s game against the Cowboys,” Jones said.

It certainly wasn’t Pickens’ week last week. Hopefully, Week 6 is able to better for him, and he’s able to come away from the contest with plenty of receiving yards, at least one touchdown, and hopefully even a win. It would be nice if he could come away from the game with all of his money intact, as well.

Luckily for Pickens, he certainly can afford a fine of that size, but that doesn’t mean that it is nice. Hopefully, things get a little better for him in the near future starting with a win over the Raiders on Sunday.
