The Pittsburgh Penguins have put together their 22-player roster for opening night on Wednesday.
After a long offseason of making moves and turning over the roster, Pittsburgh has figured out who will be ready to take the ice for the team to kick off the campaign. The Penguins are trying to make it back to the playoffs after missing the last two years, and it will have to start without two key players at the start of the season.
Bryan Rust was injured in the Oct. 1 preseason game and as a result has been placed on the injured reserve, along with goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. As a result, Joel Blomqvist will be paired up with the usual starter, Tristan Jarry, to protect the Pens’ net.
Here’s a look at the full roster for Pittsburgh.
Forwards (13): Noel Acciari, Anthony Beauvillier, Michael Bunting, Sidney Crosby, Lars Eller, Cody Glass, Kevin Hayes, Evgeni Malkin, Rutger McGroarty, Drew O’Connor, Jesse Puljujarvi, Valtteri Puustinen, Rickard Rakell
