Steelers Reportedly Called Raiders About Possible Blockbuster Trade

Pittsburgh could pull off a trade

Could the Pittsburgh Steelers pull off a blockbuster trade in the near future?

It sounds like they are interested in the possibility at least.

Pittsburgh has been looking for a fellow star receiver to pair with George Pickens and tried hard to land San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk. The Steelers did everything they could to get a deal done, but things didn’t work out.

Aiyuk decided to stay in San Francisco. Now, the Steelers could be in another sweepstakes for a fellow star receiver. Las Vegas Raiders superstar Davante Adams is looking to get out and likely will be traded in the near future. The New York Jets seem like the most likely landing spot, but the Steelers at least have called Las Vegas about a possible move, according to The MMQB’s Albert Breer.

“Teams involved in Davante Adams’ market have become convinced the Raiders star is focused on engineering a trade to the Jets,” Breer said. “The (Buffalo Bills) and Steelers are among those who’ve inquired with Vegas on Adams, per sources.”

While it seems like the Jets are the favorites for Adams, it’s interesting that Pittsburgh is interested in a move. If it could pull off a blockbuster trade with Las Vegas, it would take the team to another level. Giving Justin Fields another weapon at the caliber of Adams could take his performance to a significantly higher level and maybe even give Pittsburgh the chance to make a deep playoff run. He is that good. We should find out more soon.
