Steelers Get Mixed Bag Of Injury Updates Heading Into Tilt Vs. Cowboys

Pittsburgh is looking to get back in the win column

The Pittsburgh Steelers may not be at full strength when they take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 action on Sunday night.

Pittsburgh is looking to get back in the win column after suffering its first loss of the season in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers have a tough test ahead of them and may not have all of their offensive playmakers. The Steelers got a mixed injury update on Wednesday.

Running backs Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson both missed practice due to knee and ankle injuries. Quarterback Russell Wilson was limited due to his calf injury, although he is making progress, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

“Steelers (quarterback) Russell Wilson (calf) once again was listed as a limited participant in practice today,” Pelissero said. “(Running backs) Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) did not practice.”

Wilson has missed the entire season to this point due to his calf injury. It has been reported that he could be a full participant in practice by the end of the week, but Justin Fields is expected to start on Sunday against the Cowboys.

If Warren and Patterson are forced to miss the contest, Najee Harris will see the vast majority of the rushing work. Pittsburgh is 3-1 on the season and will return to action at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. ET. Hopefully, the Steelers will get some positive injury news throughout the rest of the week
